I don't get it...

Back to my current obsession. So, Pennsylvania. This is a traditionally Democratic state. Barack Obama has been leading comfortably in the polls there throughout the campaign, generally in a double-digit lead, though RCP has had him leading at just under 10 points over the last few days. On the evidence of the polls (flawed as they are), it's a no-brainer. So why is McCain still angling for it? Why is Palin campaigning there all day today?

As I see it, the only reason is that they are actually hoping that Pennsylvanians turn out to be so incredibly racist that they'll refuse to vote for a black candidate. It's not awfully complimentary, really. (Well, it's either that, or the GOP is planning some heavy duty electoral fraud, but you'd think they'd go for a state that was a bit swingier.)

Sorry, what are you talking about? Who is this Palin of whom you speak?

Why don't you compose a pome for Barack?

A few weeks ago Pennsylvania was showing up in the polls as weak or barely Dem, based mostly I think on the fine folk of West P not wanting to vote for a black man. Or so it was ranted about when I was over there...
