I am pleased, as today I went to the bank and, as well as getting a change of address form, I spoke to one of the bods about getting an overdraft on my account. I applied for one through the medium of online banking a few months ago and was turned down, which actually really surprised me. Then I discovered recently that because my old current account with the bank was still active, it was affecting my bank scoring rather badly, so I closed it. And I bopped up to discover that I am now pre-approved for a rather massive overdraft (which I didn't ask for, on account of being Sensible and not wanting to end up in some hideous financial Spiral of Doom), and have arranged a little overdraft for emergencies (such as the other week, when I completely forgot a cheque I had written for the Love Nest FOCS subscription, and had el giant spazz over the cheque bouncing, and me being subject to about a million pounds in bank charges, and the shame of Ann & Clarissa knowing my cheque had bounced - none of this happened, thankfully, as I had enough cash to pay into my account to make sure yonder cheque went through, and really none of you need to know this, I've just got a virulent case of LJ diarrhoea (do I get points for spelling that correctly?)), and am quite pleased, firstly that I was pro-active and got it sorted out, and secondly that, er, it was OK and they didn't laugh at me for asking for one.
