Alas...

Where has my ability to lie-in gone? I've been up for hours, made tea-bread (cooked it for an hour and a half, and it's been out for a while now) put my bedlinen on to wash, made a brief attempt at tidying the living room (got as far as putting the videos away, so not a total loss), and did a spot of flower arranging (which I'm crap at).

Hmm. Was thinking about doing a spot of National Trusting today, but the weather looks a bit mank. If it clears up this afternoon, I might walk down to Ham House and visit the gardens - mayhap I will inveigle the Katie into going with me. However, there is a back-to-back stretch of Angel pending on the Sci-Fi channel, so I may be crap and stay in and watch that. Though, having said that, it is sitting there on the DVD shelf in all its box-set glory... ah, the agony of decision-making!

Anyway, I mun giggle - have been listening to my uberfine poetry CD, which I aime muchly, but the second track of which is Dale whatsisname (want to say Winters but can't actually remember what it is; something like that, anyway) reading The Flea - and it's hysterical because he clearly doesn't have a clue what it's all about (you can tell by the way he does the whole stop-at-the-end-of-each-line thing, even when it's clear that a phrase continues). I mean, fair enough that you might not like poetry and don't *care* what it means, but you'd think if you were a professional actor/entertainer type, and were reading it aloud for a commercial release, you'd make the effort to find out... surely? Anyway, it's rather comical... It also has Joss Ackland doing The Highwayman and extracts from The Ballad of Reading Gaol (two favourites), not to mention Aedh Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven, and Not Waving But Drowning. How I love poetry...

I am a bit tired now, though. Perhaps I should just give in and go back to bed. It seems a plan.
