A thought from the head of the squeen:
Feb. 24th, 2008 01:24 pmI just had a thought, which I wish to share. I'm standing here in the kitchen, boiling some eggs (egg mayonnaise sandwiches for lunch; boiled eggs for packed lunches), when it occurred to me how this would be in a film. In a film, you would have seen the alien eggs being laid. In a film, you would have seen a careless farmhand scoop them up with the rest of the eggs. In a film, there would be crescendo-ing, menacing music as the water boiled. In a film, you would know, without a shadow of a doubt, that any second the eggs would suddenly hatch and flesh-eating aliens would burst upwards, eating my head off. In a film, I would be standing there, going la la la, little knowing the dreadful fate that awaited me, destined only to be fodder while braver, stronger characters defeated the alien menace.
But I'm just standing here going la la la.
As yet, the eggs have not hatched. As yet, I remain uneated by aliens.
