Oh, it had not occurred to me that Chekov would be feeling guilty about not beaming Amanda out. But of course he would, especially after seeing Spock lose it. You've really captured his youthfulness here, and I have so much love for Spock understanding his behavior and setting out to reassure Chekov. Lovely, lovely fic.
