Incidentally, while we're on the topic of Cold Comfort Farm: have you seen this fic? It's from last year's Yuletide, a gen sequel in picture-perfect Flora Poste voice to Cold Comfort Farm. Involving Hollywood! And mobsters! And many lovely turns of phrase!
It is quite long, but it's good enough to be worth it.
If I can find a copy of NW I'll give it a shot, but none of the libraries I frequent seem to have it. Where did you get yours? Has there been a recent reprint?
