1. I did not fall off a precipice. Yay.

2. I forgot to say that in Katie's absence, I made the perfect cheese sauce: exactly the right amount for my lasagne, and not at all lumpy. I am ridiculously proud about this.

3. I seem to have watched a great deal of Top Gear over the past week. I think you can just about watch Top Gear 24/7 on cable TV. It's joyous.

4. I rang Xanthe last night. We chatted. Always pleasant. By the end of the conversation, we had decided to attempt to run a proper, full-on Gather. We are un peu folles, je pense.

5. I have started reading again, which is a relief. It was odd looking back over the last few months and seeing how little I had read. It's the wretched TV. We watch far more TV than is good for us in the PF.

6. I have my hair in plaits again. I love that it is long enough to do this, and overlook the part where I shouldn't really at work.

7. I found a download of the Nora Roberts TV movies that have been done in the States recently - very pleased. They will doubtless be shite, but at least I will see them.

1. Huzzah. Because that would have made us awfully sad.

2. Well done. How much kitchen spazz was there in the run up to perfection though? As in, will Katie arrive home to discover complete carnage caused by you going slightly mental...?

3. Oh dear.

4. My excuse is blatant sleep deprivation. Not sure what yours is.

5. Books are good. They are ALWAYS good.

6. Is there an actual rule about this??? And do they also check the colour of your hairbands and things?

7. *pats gently*

1. Would have made me sad, too. Don't think I'm much of a Touching the Void-esque survivor. Would perish miserably.

2. Ha ha! ZERO SPAZZ WHATSOEVER! The kitchen's not even too bad. I was up early this morning (oh yes) and did some washing up. A moment, please to appreciate this, as it is the FIRST TIME EVER.

3. It was quite jolly, actually. I do like a bit of TG.

4. Am but a sheep. Baa.

5. This is fundamentally true. Except for the Bad Books.

6. TBH, wouldn't be surprised. But I hope not, for my hairbands are NOT matching. One is pink, the other is white. I can't cope with that level of matching in the morning, not when I've had washing up to cope with.

7. What? It *will* be crap and I *will* (hopefully) enjoy it.

I am très glad Snowdon did not kill you, ma Squeen. Not least because then I would be bereft of a scrambled egg maker... superficial and shallow, moi?

1. Well done!
2. Why do these things always happen when there's nobody around to admire them?
3. I think you can. Tony does. It is not joyous!
4. Hurrah!
5. Reading is good - always have a book to hand for the advert breaks
6. Plaits are neat and tidy and at least show you have done your hair since you got up, so I don't think they should object
7. Sometimes there is great enjoyment to be got out of how awful these things are
