Somehow this doesn't surprise me. www.amazon.co.uk and other online retailers are: 1) Vastly more conveniant 2) Usually more competant 3) Often slightly cheaper, even when you factor in the postage.
It's sad but it's also somewhat inevitable, methinks.
Shortly there will only be Tesco still selling books and it will be awful :-(
We're still in shock here that our fabulous, wonderful and beautiful little secondhand bookshop here in St Albans is shutting down and going completely online shortly after our beautiful independent jazz and classical music store did the same... both will be sorely missed in my lunchtime browsing sessions and both were the source of much lvoed impulse buys.
Hmm and who does it look like will be buying up the remnants of Borders in the UK? Woolworths, thats who...and seeing as they bought THE earlier this year...yep hello hell, do you have someplace to park this handcart?
