When you say Elizabeth the Gallant was an unfortunate ebay purchase, do you mean you wish you hadn't bought it because the story isn't great, or because it was battered? I didn't invest in a copy (I have the short version in an annual I think) but am pondering...

The spine is really quite battered (I was very cross; seller didn't say anything was wrong with it, and you expect a newly-out GGBP book to be in excellent condition unless otherwise stated so grr). And, although I do wish to sell it, I can't pretend it's a great story. That is, the story may be great, I don't know, because I was really put off by EBD's style. But hey. It's worth a fiver... *g*

I was going to ask for Elizabeth the Gallant, but if [livejournal.com profile] bookwormsarah wants it, obviously that's out! I'd quite like Dimsie Carries On though, if it's still available. :)

It is, and you may have it. Also E the G if Sarah doesn't.

Hmmm, I'm quite tempted with the audiobook...I'm guessing it's cassette? And abridged? How many tapes is it on?

Hi, I'm sorry for randomly commenting but I found your journal by searching for Chalet School (looking for fanfic - do you know of any? I can't seem to find anything) and then I saw this post. I would love to buy your copy of New Mistress if it's still available. If it is how would you prefer me to pay? I have an ebay account in my RL name (which I would be happy to give you via email) if you want to look me up :-)

Thank you

I welcome random comments. They are my friends :)

Of course you may have New Mistress. You can PayPal me or send a cheque - whatever suits you best. If you want to email me about it, I'm at chaletian@yahoo.co.uk.

Do I know of any fanfic? Ee, you've come to the right place. There is a very little bit on the FOCS site (www.rockterrace.demon.co.uk/FOCS - it's under Articles, I think), and quite a bit more at the Sally Denny Library (http://www.sallydennylibrary.co.uk). However, the main place to find fic is at The CBB (http://www.the-cbb.co.uk), where there are about a million fics (or hundreds, anyway *g*). They are sorted into houses (St Agnes for the stuff that might be in books, Ste Therese for the more serious stuff etc), and as well as the ones on the board there are extensive archives, which can be found listed in the Index Drabbleorum in Ste Therese's. The board itself is password protected due to spammer overload, but if you just put in 'joey' as the username and 'bettany' as the password in the pop-up prompt, you should do fine. Any questions, do ask!

Ooh... just sent you an email and forgot to ask - do you mind if I friend you?

And if you don't mind my asking do you have any particular fics you can rec along the lines of Nell/Con (stewart). I appreciate that isn't everyone's cup of tea, so if not don't worry and please don't take offense :-)

Friend away!

As for Nell/Con, I don't know any off the top of my head, but I'm quite out of the loop on the fic front. If you post on the board, someone will be able to point you in the right direction.
