Obamarama! (and yes, my West Wing obsession is influencing me slightly. But only very slightly)
I spent a few days volunteering for the Obama campaign in Philly, and had a great time. Lots of people were coming into the office and saying that this was the first candidate for years, decades even, who had excited them. They really felt that he was fresh and idealistic, and if elected he would create change.
I don't know what he will be like if he is elected, but I really really really hope that he is. John McCain didn't seem too bad initially (although he's no Arnie Vinnick) but he has been pushed and steered into a much more rightwing mould being told that this is the only way he'll get elected. Sarah Palin is just terrifying.
