Title: The Second X Chromosome Anomoly
Author:
chaletian
Fandom: The Big Bang Theory
Rating: PG
Spoilers: One for Star Trek XI!
Summary: Sheldon needs clarification on an important question.
The debate as to whether Spock and Uhura were a feasible pairing was becoming acrimonious when Sheldon stood up.
“I fear we lack the genetic make-up to make any judgement as to the emotional impact of Spock’s chosen heritage upon Uhura.”
“Hey, I’m Jewish,” said Howard. “I’m a minority.”
“You’re a minority!” objected Raj. “What about me?”
“The population of India is currently estimated to be 1145 million,” pointed out Leonard. “I don’t think you’re in a minority of anything, Raj.”
“Actually,” said Sheldon, “I was referring to Uhura’s second X chromosome.”
“Ah,” said Howard knowingly. “The womanliness.”
“Exactly. I’m going to ask Penny.”
He headed across the hall, the others watching through the open door.
Knock, knock, knock, “Penny!”
Knock, knock, knock, “Penny!”
Knock, knock, kn—
The door opened, Penny appeared, grabbed Sheldon by his t-shirt, and kissed him. Long and hard. Then she closed the door.
“Uh,” said Sheldon.
“That was… unexpected,” said Leonard.
“Wow, that other X chromosome makes all the difference,” said Howard.
“That Penny, she is like a vixen,” said Raj.
“So, that Spock/Uhura thing’s making more sense,” said Howard. They returned to their previous debate, as Sheldon wandered back in.
“Sheldon, what do you think?” demanded Raj.
“I think it’s… fascinating,” said Sheldon, and he folded up happily into his seat.
