The programme ought to have been filmed somewhere other than London because the capital was "not my country any more", he said.

He went on: "That audience was taken from a city that is no longer British ... That was not my country any more. Why not come down and do it in Thurrock, do it in Stoke, do it in Burnley?

"Do it somewhere where there are still significant numbers of English and British people [living], and they haven't been ethnically cleansed from their own country."

He added: "There is not much support for me there [in London], because the place is dominated by ethnic minorities. There is an ethnic minority that supports me: the English. But there's not many of them left." (source)

What a wankpot. Apart from anything else, he might want to rein in the hyperbole and check his statistics.

ETA: I mean, Jesus fuck, who actually, actually says things like There is an ethnic minority that supports me: the English outside a drunken rant? Who says things like that and expects to be taken seriously when it's clearly a load of old wank? English people are not an ethnic minority in England. I can't believe we're in a position where that has to be pointed out to an elected politician. Also, if the BNP actually wins any seats in the Commons at the next election, I may have to shoot someone.

What scares me about the BNP is that there is a sector of the population that feels it is so underrepresented by the mainstream that they vote for him. I worked with kids form lots of thsoe estates where they do vote BNP and I can see why they do. They are marginalised, rejected labelled white working class, on benefits, unempoyable etc. They vote BNP because it gives thems something to blame.

If the Government would address the underclass they have created and give them some hope and a future the BNP would just fade away. After all that is why Hitler got power. he gave people with no hope and no future a dream,..

THIS POST, THANK YOU. I reeeeally hope people are more sensible than this and that people like Nick Griffin are just a very vocal minority, or maybe it's some kind of conspiracy to scare the crap out of people and get them to vote for major parties (if so it's working on me), but telling myself these things would be more effective if I didn't live with my stepdad and have to listen to this sort of crazy all the time (okay, he's never used the terms "ethnic cleansing", he's not that extreme, but it's small comfort. I was once grounded for destroying a BNP leaflet before he could read it).

Nick Griffin and all his little friends: kindly go and live in a hole and never interact with other humans again.

Unfortunately a lot of people are concerned about the level of perceived immigration who are not, and never would be racist. After all, we live on an island with limited space. If the major parties aren't seen to be tackling this concern then some people will turn to a party that would.

As an Australian - english/ Irish/ Scottish immigrant descent, since its relevant to the topic - I can safely say:-
On the upside some of the worst of the A******* crap should disappear in 2 -3 years, along with his party.
On the downside a lot of the paranoia about ' foreigners coming into our country/ taking our jobs/ stealing our women ' will remain for a while yet.
After a while though most people will figure out that somewhere along the line - not very far along in most cases - we're all f****** immigrants / descended from immigrants
