La la la. I don't have anything to say, particularly, but I thought I might as well update.

So, here's me. Updating. Yep. Fascinating in any language.

BTW, let's just have a moment to reflect on the fineness that is me and [livejournal.com profile] katie__pillar: we are being spectacularly organised and planful and generally amazing. We have a bills budget, and potential moving plans and everything.

Apparently marine archaeologists think they have found out why the Mary Rose sank. Huzzah for marine archaeology!

X-Files season 1 is so fine. I feel an urge to go and find some good fic.

Aha ! You live !

X Files Season 1 is so fine, although I always think of it as somehow a different show to the other 6 (refuse to count Seasons 8 and 9). It's like a show I enjoy becuase I enjoy it rather than becuase it's all about Mulder and Scully. Can rec a *great* Season 1 fic rec if you want it !

Oooh, so why did the Mary Rose sink ?

PS. Just putting tentacles out there at the moment, but would you be up for a seriuos/indepth/totally pretentious PG debate ? got a few people who have said "But yes !" so just seeing whether it's worth doing.

Ooh, yes, rec away!

Apparently the fo'c'sle was much bigger than presumed, and also prob filled with soldiers, which would have affected the waterline, centre of gravity, and how the ship moved etc. Hence making it more likely to fall over (in ship terms).

I would indeed be up for debate, though can't guarantee that I would say anything *particularly* intelligent about it all. Would give it my damnedest, however.

I think there's some blatant smut gonig on at some point, but she's a brilliant writer and this takes Season 1 and fills in the blanks basiclly. Oh, and Ethan, Scully's boyfriend in The Pilot is still around.

Coolio ! Well I have some posts by the Grande Dame of the PG world that he's given me permission to re-post that really look at the show's themes, issues etc. so thought it might be fun to have a 'proper' discussion ! Will be next week some time I think. Stay tuned.

X-Files season 1 is indeed the finest season EVER. Although seasons 4 and 5 are pretty good as well. Will have a hunt through my X-Files fanfic bookmarks this eve if you like...

Hurrah for organised-ness :D

Oooh, Gem, remember when I gave you all my book-marked fic sites? Could you tell me what they were please cuz my laptop is deaded.
I know there was http://tooms.gossamer.org/

and http://shippers.fredfarm.com/fanfic/ is pretty good at times, though I think all the stories have some degree of smut.

also, a lot that received 'spooky awards' are good, though I'm not sure of the site, you'd have to google it.

I do remember saving one fic onto disk cuz it was very good. There was smut, as ever, and it really didn't need it because the story was pretty gripping as it was. I'll try and find it if anyone's interested.

ooh, this site http://links.metalthorn.com/xfalpha.html provides links to lots of xfiles fanfic boards.
