1. Huzzah! For those who hadn't twigged, the NHS firewall seems to be letting me back onto LJ properly (ie logged in) - excellente.

2. No wonder I was alone in having watched Green Knowe on television - it was shown in 1986! I didn't realise it was so long ago, though I knew I was quite young when I watched it. There is a bit of a website for it here should anyone old enough want to wander down memory lane. Frankly, given my memory, I'm amazed I remember it at all.

Oh I watched it ! But then that shouldn't surprise, non ?

You can actually purchase it on DVD from this fabulous and wonderful and all things brilliant site:

http://www.raretv.co.uk/offLine.php

which is moving at the moment but will be back soon.

Ooh, I followed the link but saw that they were offline at the moment. Are they fine and cheap and reliable? Hast thou done business with them before?

Oh they're amazing ! Most DVD's are £7 and they have a huge collection of classic and rare TV. Theyr'e very professional, it's not some dodgy copies that arrive five weeks later. All very slick and well done.

Groovy. I may well try and get it from them, then, because I do remember enjoying it very much, as titchy as I was.

I remember it being on rather well. I don't so much remember sitting down and watching it. I think I dubbed it 'boring' - but I'd have probably seen it because it was on between Newsround and Neighbours...

It has baffled me for a while as to why I remember Green Knowe because in 1986 I was really too young to remember it (well, 6 or 7 but it wasn't something that I would have thought I'd have watched at the time, if you see what I mean). Yet I do remember it, quite vividly, especially the St Christopher walking, and it was only because of that I started reading the books.

I must visit the house one day!

I remember it quite vividly, I would have been 8/9, especially as Donna says, the St Christopher walking, and the real eerieness of Green Noah and the leaves rustling in the wind.

I don't think I went further than the second book in the series though, not sure, but I still have my copy of the first which I love.

I remember it too. Seem to recall being scared of the peacock crowing.
