I am excited to report that the Sally Denny Library, a longstanding but previously largely dormant Chalet School fic archive, has been re-opened! Yay! It is now beautiful and functional, and if anyone has any Chalet fic they would like to share, it would be super good if they wanted to mosey on over. Please share this momentous news with anyone you think would be interested!!

Well, today has been fairly productive, though it did not feel much like a bank holiday due to [livejournal.com profile] katie__pillar leaping off to work. Pah. Anyway, I pobbled around and did things, including booking tickets to see A Matter of Life and Death at the National next month (huzzah) and packing more bits. Then [livejournal.com profile] rosyposypie very helpfully came round and helped move all the crap that was lying around in bags and plastic boxes. My mother was supposed to come yesterday with her giant mutant car, but alas she did not feel up to it (so I will no doubt be begging Jess for her sewing machine at some point as well, in a desperate bid to provide FT with some kind of curtainage), so we had to make alternative plans. We visited the giant Asda at Roehampton afterwards and got some stuff for lunch (and doughnuts, on account of starving nigh unto death after our labours), then returned to the PF and had soup and bread and cheese etc. Also managed to flog one of the Billy bookcases to her - huzzah! At about half two the shoe rack woman off Freecycle came and took the shoe rack and the blue rug, and the hall now looks quite bare. Apart, of course, from the impressive volume of my shoes: astounding given the fact that I never have any shoes to wear.

Thenceforth to Sainsbury's, where I pur-chased the ingredients for Taunton Chicken and rhubarb crumble, except they both went horribly wrong. C'est la vie.

Yesterday, we went shopping in Hammersmith, which was v fine, though Primark was a hideous experience best forgotten. It was so much nicer when it wasn't so famous. I bought some knickers, some socks, and a green cardigan (like I don't have enough green tops...) with short sleeves. It's very sweet. I also bought two pairs of red shoes (£12 each - yay), both with patterned insides, which I am sure you will all agree is of the utmost importance with shoes. Then we went into the most genius shop, called Tiger, which is apparently of Danish extraction. It is BRILLIANT, and we bought many a fine item, including a green chips'n'dips bowl (which we intend to break out for Acklesfest in a couple of weeks), a couple of v v kitsch trays, and other assorted items of wonder. There is likely to be a not inconsiderable amount of Christmas shopping going on in that emporium of delight.

Anyhow, on that note will bop off.

Oh, does anyone want any of the following, free, gratis and for nothing:

1. CD rack
2. Faintly hideous silvery chandelier thing with amethyst-y dangly bits (is slightly better than description but not much)
3. Square mirror with v v wide wooden frame
4. Printer-port colour printers with software etc and cables (x2)
5. Scanner with cables and software (don't think it works on XP or later)
6. An old computer. Hardware is fine; software is fucked
7. A load of Ikea IVAR shelving - if interested can provide more specific details
8. A blue two-seater single sofa bed (we think it is Ikea - the Ektorp range). It is v old and def past its best, but still functional.

Just come for a little pimp...

The brilliant News & Views mods on the CBB have started a lovely institution known as the CBB News Digest, summing up the past week's activity on the board. We thought it might be a rather cunning idea to duplicate this on LJ, for all the people who don't really go on the CBB much, but who might like to keep an eye out for anything interesting kicking off over there. So, may I introduce:

Go forth and friend: I am sure it will prove to be invaluable!

Why am I still up at quarter past three? I hate it when my internal clock gets messed around with. Have made chocolate brandy cake for Hannah's dedication on Sunday, and must simply try and not eat it before then. Will make coffee cake tomorrow (or later today, to be slightly more precise). Must remember to post eBay thing, as well, and indeed hope that I wake up in time to get to the PO, as it closes at lunch time.

But, tis not all doom and gloom on the being-up-late front, for I have made The Sally Denny Library look very pretty (or prettier), which I have been meaning to do for ages. It will look prettier yet in time, but this will do for now.

I watched The Moving Finger, and it is the most genius AC adaptation *ever* - it is so ridiculously stylised - I love it!
