chaletian: (bard omg wtf shakespeare)
Eh bien, Katie and I had intended to go and see Othello at the Globe last night, as it finishes this weekend, but when we got there it was sold out! The ignominy! So we instead decided to pobble along the river and back again, which was far more fun than it probably sounds. We saw lots of exciting things, and took photos of them (though sadly this plan only materialised later, and our earlier travels are not so documented - you missed the concrete warriors. Mourn, flist, mourn).

We got home quite late and watched Supernatural. It was No Exit, which has been pretty much universally detested in fandom, but we decided that we quite liked it and Jo is GOOD and should be given another chance because Dean/Jo ftw. Oh yes. I'm nailing my colours to the mast here. I may even compose a post about why she is good and crazily post it to [livejournal.com profile] supernatural_tv or something. And I had a bath, and Katie sorted out the photies, and so to bed.

Now, I mun arise and go to... well, the bathroom, for to shower. I am due at Kathye's later this morning, and must away. Shower, bit of breakfast, get dressed... I can cope with that. Plus must remember to leave out laptop so Katie can watch Prison Break over the weekend, should she wish it.

Have been making Mexican lasagna whilst listening to Bugsy Malone. What could be finer?

A single person requested some brief info on what constitute the simple yet filling recipes in the love nest, so I oblige. None of these are hugely specific recipes because, er, I don't really do specific recipes.

No. 1 - Spinach Risotto )

No. 2 - Mushroom Pasta )

No. 3 - Stir Fry )

No. 4 - Barbecue Chicken )

I will add some more later. Am quite enjoying sort of codifying the kitchen joy.

La. Am drinking hot chocolate and being antisocial as everyone else plays Mario Party in the living room. Am semi tempted to go and steal Darren and Kathye's bed and see if they notice...

I bought a new jumper yesterday on my way to meet Katie on the South Bank, on account of planning to groundling it at the Globe and only having my yellow and white stripy polo shirt to wear. It is grey and v-necked and very useful. I like Dorothy Perkins. It has any amount of weird, crap clothes, but is very good for just basic, normal stuff like v-necks and jeans and t-shirts and what have you.

I forgot to tell everyone how I passed the latter hours of my working day yesterday. Not on work, obviously. What are you, crazed? I started by trying to write out the whole of The Owl and the Pussycat without recourse to google, but I always get a bit stuck on the second verse. And then I moved on (for some unknown reason) to Orsino's opening speech from Twelfth Night, with which I had more success. Then I googled for the full text of Twelfth Night to check that I was right (I was mostly, though my lines had gone slightly skewhiff, as they are prone to, even when I tap out the iambic pentameter), and then, for reasons best known to be subconscious, briefly acted out Twelfth Night in my office, with me acting the part of Orsino. This was mostly in my head, on account of office policy meaning I have to keep my door open, but occasionally out loud when Orsino was getting particularly vehement about something. Pleased with the success of this enterprise, I then did the same with Much Ado, this time taking the part (obviously) of Beatrice. Sadly, I did not get to finish the play before it was time to go home, but that is probably for the best, as the first half is the most fun anyway.
